NYS Prayer Summit

New York State Prayer Summit

For three years, from 2004 through 2006, anointed leaders from cities and regions throughout New York State gathered to worship, to listen to God and to share what God was doing and what the Spirit was saying to their “Jerusalem.” These were three day gatherings that included praying, times of prophetic impartation, praying, great table fellowship, praying, networking and praying. As we heard what God was doing in and saying to each part of the State we also gained vision for what God was saying to all of New York State. In the spring of 2004 this gathering was held in Painted Post, NY near the city of Corning. In 2005 it was held in Latham; in the capital region. In 2006 we gathered nearer to the geographic center of the State in Syracuse.

We have been taking a break since 2006. [But other similar gatherings have been raised up by God in the State of New York. – See below.] Each of the gatherings that have been held has been a time where participants have been greatly encouraged and where we knew we were keeping an appointment with God. Each gathering has been unique. God has not done the same thing twice. Click the links below to read a synopsis of the ’04 or the ’05 Summit. The best way to sum up the ’06 Summit was to record the key words we heard that have provided direction in ministry and in prayer. Although years are passing since the time of these Summits, what God did and said is still something we need to keep hearing today.

Although this Team is currently “lying fallow,” they remain in regular contact with each other as they pray for the State. The time will come when they will be called back into action as the State Summit Team to organize summits again in the future. – In the meantime, God is doing something else. Retired pastor, Dr. Bruce Jones, had a vision for bringing the Church together to reach the city of Syracuse. As Dr. Jones began to work toward a “City Reachers Conference,” God told him to open it up to Church leaders from across the state. Dr. Jones was obedient, and the first statewide City Reachers Conference was held in Syracuse in the spring of 2009. More such conferences will follow. See the “Current Initiatives” announcements on this web site for updates on these conferences or go to www.cityreachersconference.com.
