Coming Events

Where there is unity, God commands a blessing, even life everlasting! – Ps 133
There are so many opportunities to come together as one in Christ in our region; it can be difficult to keep track of them all. Therefore this list of coming events has been put together to help you plan your personal involvement and so you can hold all of these events and the people who lead and participate in your prayers. Thank you!

Speaker: Erica Damcott

Growing up in Sherman and always expec6ng to return to Chautauqua County, God had different plans as he led Erica into full 6me missions six years ago.

For the last three years, she's been working with Freedom 61, a ministry bringing hope to women amidst sexual exploita6on in Latvia (www.freedom61.org).

Since being in Latvia, this "woman of courage" has been helping to develop,
open, and work at the Women's Center. The center exists to provide women
coming out of addic6ons, sexual exploita6on, prison, and other chao6c lifestyles
a safe place to heal and grow as they take their first steps towards a different
lifestyle.

Come and join us as we link arms and hearts as Erica shares about her journey to
Latvia and some of the experiences of walking alongside women and witnessing
the transforma6on God has brought in the process.

Women of enCOURAGEment will bring stories of courage and inspiration that will challenge and encourage us spiritually and relationally.

Speaker: Susan Colwell

“Who am I, Lord and who are you?” a question oten asked by Susan Colwell, September’s featured speaker for Women of EnCOURAGEment.

Over 23 years ago, Susan’s life dramatically changed when she spiritually came alive. With many broken pieces, Susan came to a new-found faith that would heal her marriage and set Susan on an unshakeable course. Since that time, her life has not been the same and she has experienced so many of God’s richest blessings.

With her husband of 30 years, Dan, 4 adult children and 9 grandchildren, plus 1 more arriving soon, Susan treasures faith and family. She and her husband spend winters in Florida and summers on the lake in Ashville enjoying family in both areas.

Since she retired as Executive Director of St. Susan Center Soup Kitchen in Jamestown (she certainly had the right name to hold that position), she has continued to pursue the calling on her life to affect change around her.

With a passion for women to know God more intimately, she is currently writing two books,
The Secret Dance of a Woman and How to Pray to Change the World Around You.

Prayer and the Word of God are her lifeline. She has learned through personal experience that prayer changes people, places and things! Her favorite saying: “Life is a hiccup but eternity is forever.” Come and join us as we link arms and hearts to receive yet one more encouraging tes6mony from Susan Colwell, our Woman of Encouragement!!

Jamestown. You heard it right--Jamestown!
!

Enslaved to drugs and alcohol, Nilsa moved from Buffalo to
Jamestown to find a new way of life. Come hear this amazing story by an amazing woman who was touched by the hand of God and delivered from addiction her 2nd day in Jamestown.

Women of EnCOURAGEment Breakfasts

Saturday, 11 March at 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
At Christ Church, 3012 Route 430, Greenhurst

Speaker: Bonnie Hurley--an amazing woman who started her ministry as a missionary at the age of 65 and has been going strong for the last 7 years. After becoming a widow at the age of 60, the Lord began to shape the woman who God saw and she was able to overcome the mental & emotional abuse of a very difficult childhood and marriage. Bonnie began to understand that she was loved as a child of God. She grew in the knowledge of who God had called her to be. So starting at the age of 65, Bonnie has had numerous trips to India and Africa. She will share her experiences through a slide show. All will be impacted by her testimony and you will leave encouraged in the work that God does in the hearts of His daughters.

Saturday, 8 April at 8:30 a.m.

Breakfast followed by speaker: Heidi Bogue. Overcoming incredible circumstances as a young girl in a very dysfunctional family, Heidi found herself to be on her own at the age of 12. Heidi looks at the world through the eyes of one who has been redeemed from the powers of darkness and moves with a heart of love and understanding for lost humanity.  Heidi married Jon Bogue two years ago and the fruit of their union has been a testimony to the work of the Holy Spirit in her life as she and Jon impact the culture.
